Frequently asked questions

General

Where do you operate? +

We are headquartered in Køge, Denmark, with operational hubs in Singapore and Busan, South Korea — and more to follow.

Do you put divers in the water? +

No. Every inspection and cleaning is performed by our remotely operated ROV systems from our workboat and pilot cabin — no people in the water at any point.

How do I book a service? +

Use our contact form or email sales@c-leanship.com with your vessel details and port call. We plan the job together with the captain and agent before the vessel arrives.

Underwater hull cleaning

Will the cleaning damage my anti-fouling coating? +

Our technology is based on water jets that are gentle to antifouling paint. We start at the lowest possible pressure and only increase if needed.

What happens to the biofouling? +

Our collection system sends cleaned biofouling topside to the workboat, where we filter, collect and dispose of it via dedicated onshore facilities.

When should I clean? +

We recommend cleaning if you have more than 30% biofouling coverage — this preserves your antifouling system and keeps emissions and fuel consumption low.

Detailed ROV inspections

What will be inspected? +

The full hull in sections with clearly indicated photo locations, plus common niche areas — sea chest, propeller and bow thruster. We always cover the same areas for comparison over time.

Are there operational limitations? +

We inspect 24/7. Our ROV handles currents up to 1.2 knots — enough for a normal port call. A few very small niche areas cannot yet be photographed clearly.

Can I follow the inspection? +

Yes — your crew can join our team and follow the inspection live on video.

The first ever ROV propeller cleaning

How is the propeller cleaning done? +

A field-proven ROV with our in-house cleaning system, launched from our workboat and remotely operated from our ROV pilot cabin — no people in the water.

What happens to the biofouling? +

Collected and sent topside to our workboat, where we filter, collect and sustainably dispose of it via dedicated onshore facilities.

When should I clean? +

We recommend cleaning the propeller twice a year in line with industry standards to maintain efficiency and reduce fuel consumption and emissions.
